EAST GRAND FORKS
REFERENDUM INFORMATION

School pride is evident at East Grand Forks Public Schools which is why the School Board voted to include three questions on the November 3, 2026 ballot. This 3-question referendum aims to address operational budget needs, and key academic and capital maintenance priorities while managing tax payer dollars wisely.

East Grand Forks Public Schools is the only district in the area that does not have an operating levy. Voters will be asked to approve additional funding above the annual revenue limit to maintain reasonable class sizes, top-notch programming, and critical student services. Question One on the fall ballot will aim to address these ongoing needs.

Question Two addresses capital needs for safety, security and infrastructure improvements including systems that are nearly 30 years old. The District has managed as long as possible, but now is the time to address these large scale needs before costs rise even further.

The needs outlined in this plan reflect carefully prioritized input from the East Grand Forks Public School community, staff and our facilities planning committee.
